FROM NEW BUILD TO ESTABLISHED LANDSCAPE

A continuous hedge from the day it was installed

This newly completed home on a busy corner needed privacy, green structure and a finished boundary from the start.

The architect’s impression already showed an established hedge as part of the finished design. Traditional hedge planting would have started with a row of separate plants and years of waiting for them to grow together.

Living Walls™ offered another way.

Supplied as fully formed one-metre hedge lengths, the hedge was ready for the landscape contractor to install. In one day, the exposed boundary became a continuous green screen, providing immediate privacy and helping the new landscape feel established.

We’ve grown your hedge for you.

Architect’s impression

Artist's impression of a privacy hedge for a new build NZ

The finished design already included an established green boundary.

Rather than waiting years for separate plants to grow together, the clients chose a Living Walls™ instant hedge to realise that part of the design from the start.

How Living Walls™ create an instant hedge

Traditional hedge planting begins with individual plants spaced along a boundary.

Living Walls™ arrive as fully formed hedge lengths. One hedge length is installed per linear metre, with the foliage positioned to meet, creating a continuous hedge from the day it is installed.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the timber edge shown in the photos?
No. It is a shallow mowing strip chosen by the homeowners and is not required for Living Walls™ installation.

What should I add to the trench?
Nothing extra is required. The soil excavated from the trench can be used to backfill around the hedge.

Do I leave the hedge in the bags?
No. Remove the bag before installing the hedge. See our Instant Hedge Installation Guide for the full process.
