Known as the “Queen of Houseplants” in cooler Northern Hemisphere climates, the Clivia must surely be the “King of Shade” here in NZ.

It’s hard to beat this robust, evergreen perennial for dry, shady spots around the house or under trees. The orange to orange-red flowers appear in late winter / early spring.
